Nagrik Netra

Nagrik Netra (नागरिक नेत्र) is a citizen safety and complaint platform built by Hisoft for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. A resident points the phone at the problem – crime, harassment, ragging, potholes, garbage, a water leak, noise – and records a live video. The app reads the video on the phone for evidence (weapons, faces, vehicle number plates, fire and smoke, crowds and fights, noise level, potholes and garbage), fingerprints it so it can never be edited or deleted, and sends the complaint straight to the responsible officer with a deadline.

The citizen follows every step – submitted, assigned, team dispatched, resolved – with each update signed by the officer. If a deadline is missed, the complaint rises automatically to the department head, the control room and the Mayor's priority desk. Women and students can report silently and anonymously, and a two-second press of the SOS button (or a silent double-tap / shake) sends the live location and a 5-second video and audio clip to the control room and alerts nearby users and emergency contacts.

For police and the city, Nagrik Netra turns citizens into a network of verified eyes: timestamped, location-tagged evidence packages with faces and plates already identified, and heatmaps that show where problems are rising. Only live recordings are accepted, so fake and forwarded clips are filtered out. The app is free for citizens, works in मराठी, हिंदी and English, and runs on any Android phone or in the browser.
